How it all started...

Our rich history started way back in 1954 Rev. Horridge rented the old union hall in Barnhart and started services there. In 1955 God spoke to him and he decided to build a church. He bought one and one-half acres from Homer Price Real Estate Company and had the basement dug. This was made into a place of worship equipped with a few chairs, a Bible stand and a piano. By God's grace and mercy, we came through 3 floods in the next few years. After growing through the next 2 decades, in November 75, the congregation called Pastor Don Golden. The church board realized God had placed the church in one of the most strategic locations in the county. They had a great vision for expanding God's word in this area. It was believed that the present location was the most desirable in reaching out to the very rapidly growing area. After the property was purchased. God worked several miracles in our financing, to Him be the Glory! On November 20, 1977 our first service was held in the new sanctuary with 365 in attendance, What a thrill it was to, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. " None of this would have been possible had it not been, first of all, for God's faithful help and leadership. And of course the many, many who gave so willingly and selflessly.
